Karlie Kloss believes technology can help to \u201csolve some of the biggest issues in fashion\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old model decided to take a coding class seven years into her career, and that experience has transformed how Kloss looks at the future of the fashion industry.<\/p>\n

She explained: \u201cThat coding class changed the trajectory of my career and sparked a lifelong passion for how technology can be used creatively to solve real problems, transform lives, and address our world\u2019s biggest challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Victoria\u2019s Secret Angel has already helped to educate more than 12 000 people across the US with her \u201cKode With Klossy\u201d camps, which teach coding skills to girls aged between 13 and 18.<\/p>\n

And Kloss believes that technology has a huge role to play in the fashion industry moving forward.<\/p>\n

The catwalk star told CNN: \u201cWhile modelling is still my \u2018day job\u2019, spending most of the past decade working in both fashion and tech has helped me conceptualise how digital technology can help solve some of the biggest issues in fashion.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor example, tech is already opening up so many opportunities to expand creative expression and design. It can also help address some of the industry\u2019s biggest challenges, from its role in the climate crisis to the lack of size inclusivity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that designers in the future won\u2019t just be sewing, they\u2019ll be coding.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kloss noted that there\u2019s \u201climitless\u201d potential in the crossover between fashion and technology.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cOver the past few years, fashion has been booming with technological innovations. Digital designers, for example, are using 3D modelling and AR to outfit avatars and humans alike.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe potential to change how fashion is made, sustained, and accessed is limitless.\u201d<\/p>\n
