Michelle Diamond known in the entertainment industry as Michy says that her sign at the just ended \u201cAshaiman to the World\u201d Festival was a sign\u00a0 for unity.<\/span><\/p>\n She performed with Nautyca, whom she has several songs with\u00a0 and\u00a0 was a part of the of the artiste to perform that night.<\/span><\/p>\n After her performance, Michy raised her two hands up and held her ring fingers down with her thumbs up, which is Shatta Wale, her ex boyfriend\u2019s famous sign.<\/span><\/p>\n Michy explained in a radio interview that, the sign is a\u00a0symbol of hope, and was created and possibly promoted by Shatta Wale.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis gave some spark to what I had done. It wasn\u2019t planned, it was an impromptu feeling.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI move by intuition, I move with what I feel inside my body.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t planned, I don\u2019t know why I put it up but if that\u2019s what will make everybody know that love is love, and there\u2019s no need to fight [then so be it]. We need to collaborate and progress. In this industry, we need each other. Why are we here fighting?\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n Supporters from the camps of Ghanaian dancehall stars Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are famous rivals and until recently, the leaders of both camps had been sworn enemies, the climax of their tensions being the gun incident at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Michy, who has a son with Shatta Wale, said \u201csomeone would think I was in enemy territory\u201d at the \u2018Ashaiman to the World\u2019 concert but \u201cNo! I combined and collaborated the two of them, whether they liked it or not.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Throwing the \u2018Wale Sign\u2019, however, she was \u201cshocked at the number of hands that went up with the symbol because that was a Bhim show and there were SM fans there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhat are you fighting for? I\u2019m not a preacher of violence, I\u2019m a preacher of love,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n Citing the touted cohesion amongst Nigerian creatives, she asked, \u201cWhy are we here going against ourselves? And I am not blaming Shatta and I\u2019m not blaming Stonebwoy, it\u2019s a character. Somebody must show that it\u2019s okay to be on good terms with everybody, especially for business sake.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n To Michy, it was not a matter of Shatta Movement (Shatta Wale fans) being at a Bhim Nation (Stonebwoy fans) concert.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe thing is, the fans from both camps are the same,\u201d she opined.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She compared the crowd to political rallies where people go to take \u201cparaphernalia and food\u201d despite their open or secret political affiliations or beliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSo instead of us working against ourselves when we are the same people, we might as well join.
