I wish her the best and God\u2019s blessings\u201d, he said in a tweet.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">\u201cOn behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, I extend deepest condolences to the new British monarch, King Charles III, the @RoyalFamily, the Prime Minister, and the Government and people of Great Britain on the death, today, of HM Queen Elizabeth II\u201d, the President said in another tweet.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">In honour of the memory of the late Queen, President Akuffo-Addo has directed that all official flags in the country fly at half-mast for seven days from today, Friday, August 9, 2022.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">Ghana\u2019s Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also joined his boss, the President, in mourning the demise of the late Queen.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">In a flier shared on his Twitter page, the Vice President said \u201cwith great sadness, I have learnt of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the affectionate Queen of the United Kingdom, and Head of the Commonwealth of which Ghana is a member\u201d.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">He added that \u201cIn her seven-decade-long reign, she was a staunch advocate of global development and a beacon of peace. I extend on behalf of my wife and family, condolences to the Kingdom, and the entire Commonwealth. Fare thee well HRM Elizabeth II\u201d.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, presidential candidate for the largest opposition in Ghana for 2016 and 20202 elections, has also eulogised the late Queen Elizabeth II, Monarch of the United Kingdom.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">In a post on his Twitter page, Mr Mahama says the Queen carried her royal duties with grace and dignity.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">\u201cSad to hear the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. She carried her royal duties with grace, poise &#038; dignity. An icon of pride not only to the British people but the Commonwealth.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">\u201cOur hearts go out to King Charles III and the Royal Family. May God grant her peaceful repose\u201d, he tweeted.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"background-color:transparent;\">Ghana\u2019s former President.
