{"id":1200794,"date":"2022-09-08T14:47:23","date_gmt":"2022-09-08T14:47:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/08\/nsa-boss-says-baba-yara-stadium-is-the-pitch-best-in-ghana\/"},"modified":"2022-09-08T14:47:23","modified_gmt":"2022-09-08T14:47:23","slug":"nsa-boss-says-baba-yara-stadium-is-the-pitch-best-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/08\/nsa-boss-says-baba-yara-stadium-is-the-pitch-best-in-ghana\/","title":{"rendered":"NSA boss says Baba Yara Stadium is the pitch best in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Baba-Yara-2-640x424-1.jpg\"   alt=\"Baba Yara Stadium\" title=\"Baba Yara Stadium\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Baba Yara Stadium<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Prof Peter Twumasi, has expressed satisfaction on renovation works at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the turf at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium is the best in Ghana and one of the best in Africa and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The NSA boss was in Kumasi to inspect the readiness of the facility ahead of the commencement of the 2022\/23 Ghana Premier League this weekend.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The Baba Yara Sports Stadium received minor renovation works when the 2021\/22 football season ended in June this year.<\/p>\n<p>The enhancement work became necessary after CAF recommended renovation and refurbishment work be done in order to ensure, the stadium is approved in the future for CAF\/FIFA competitions.<\/p>\n<p>This was after Ghana was granted one match conditional approval against Nigeria in the World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p>The dressing rooms, offices and the pitch were among the units CAF said required more touching to improve the standard of the facility.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of the Authority, Prof Peter Twumasi, arrived on Wednesday to observe the facility ahead of the upcoming campaign.<\/p>\n<p>He toured the outskirts of the stadium, the offices and dressing rooms, as well as the VIP stands before finally inspecting the pitch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Professor Twumasi after the inspection exercise emphasised the pitch at the Baba Yara Stadium is the best in Ghana and one of the best in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the pitch, I was walking on it and I said, it looks like we are walking on artificial turf.\u201d He said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is natural and it\u2019s excellent.
