Some people in the Petroleum sector have said that removal of fuel subsidy may increase pump price and also push millions of Nigerians into poverty. Speaking on whether fuel subsidy should be removed or not, the Presidential Candidate of the Action Democratic Party, and National Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, Yabagi Sani said it will be better if fuel subsidy is removed and the money used in subsidizing fuel is channeled to other sectors of the economy. <\/p>\n<p>Yabagi Sani said fuel subsidy should be removed in a manner that will be productive and that the money which was used to subsidize fuel must be accounted for by the Petroleum sector. Speaking further, Yabagi Sani said when Sani Abacha was in power, he gave him an idea on how to remove fuel subsidy which he said worked for some time.
