Ghanaian singer\/songwriter Gyakie has been awarded at the 2022 edition of Nigeria\u2019s Headies Awards.<\/p>\n

The event organised over the weekend, saw Gyakie take home the Best West African Artiste of the Year award.<\/p>\n

She beat stiff competition from Angelique Kidjo (Benin), Amaarae (Ghana), KiDi (Ghana), Aya Nakamura (Mali) and Nelson Freitas (Cape Verde).<\/p>\n

Gyakie\u2019s popularity soared in Nigeria following the success of her single \u2018Foerever\u2019. She later released a remix with Omah Lay.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the 15th Headies Awards was held on Sunday at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.<\/p>\n

The event was hosted by Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro and Hollywood Actor Anthony Andersen, with live performances from Adekunle Gold, Ladipoe, Tiwa Savage, Joeboy, Flavour and others.<\/p>\n

Sweeping the most awards at the ceremony is Afrobeats star Wizkid. The singer won five awards including Best Afrobeat Album(Made in Lagos) and Album of the year (Made in Lagos-Deluxe Edition).<\/p>\n

His global hit single\u00a0 \u2018Essence\u2019 featuring Tems, won the Best Collaboration, Best R&B Single and Song of the Year awards.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Burna Boy received the Best Male Artiste and Best African Artist of the Year awards.<\/p>\n

Davido won the Digital Artist of the Year and Humanitarian Award of the year.<\/p>\n
