{"id":1199195,"date":"2022-09-05T22:43:48","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T22:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/05\/jan-josephs-ex-husband-of-real-housewives-star-margaret-josephs-dead-at-74\/"},"modified":"2022-09-05T22:43:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T22:43:48","slug":"jan-josephs-ex-husband-of-real-housewives-star-margaret-josephs-dead-at-74","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/05\/jan-josephs-ex-husband-of-real-housewives-star-margaret-josephs-dead-at-74\/","title":{"rendered":"Jan Josephs, Ex-Husband of Real Housewives Star Margaret Josephs, Dead at 74"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sad news today out of the world of reality television.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve learned that Jan Josephs, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs, passed away suddenly on August 26 from a heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>He was 74 years old.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><noscript\/><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"820\" height=\"599\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457225 lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/gp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Jan-Josephs-75-26082022-3b5bfc56c0a6430e8e730889c204f5c0-copy.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cToday would have been Jan\u2019s 75th birthday,\u201d wrote Margaret,, captioning a black-and-white photograph of a young Jan. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe passed away unexpectedly last week and a piece of us died with him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are heartbroken,\u201d she continued, adding: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe night before he left us we shared a beautiful conversation of how blessed we are, our children all successful and happy and that we could only brag to each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"905\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/gp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screen-Shot-2022-09-05-at-6.29.50-PM-905x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457226\"\/><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"905\" height=\"1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457226 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screen-Shot-2022-09-05-at-6.29.50-PM.png\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Margaret and Jan got married wed in 1994 when the The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member was 24. <\/p>\n<p>At the time, Jan had full custody of his three kids (then ages 8, 14 and 16) from a previous marriage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey needed someone to love them and I was completely obsessed with them,\u201d Margaret explained during an episode of the aforementioned program about her three stepkids\u2026 who are now 42, 44 and 46 years old.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"704\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/gp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screen-Shot-2022-09-05-at-6.29.52-PM-1024x704.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457227\"\/><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"704\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457227 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screen-Shot-2022-09-05-at-6.29.52-PM.png\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The exes also share a 26-year-old biological son.<\/p>\n<p>The marriage came to an end in 2013 after Josephs had an affair with her now-husband.<\/p>\n<p>And yet: They talked almost everyday, Margaret said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was my family,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJan was an amazing father, grandfather, friend, [and] partner to his girlfriend. He loved everyone unconditionally. And it doesn\u2019t make it any easier. But I know in my heart we\u2019ll find a way back to one another. I\u2019d die over them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Added Josephs of her infidelity:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sorry the way it went down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut no one leaves a happy marriage. Our marriage was way over before Joe walked in the picture.
