As their root was highlife, I was learning that too. Before anything, highlife is Ghana; so, why don\u2019t I inculcate highlife in everything that I do?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, it even showed in my first album \u2013 it was densely highlife, even though I did a lot of different stuff and kinds of music but highlife was like the root. Even \u2018Shika\u2019, my present one, you could see that the highlife is even present.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"UVCqUlhbwbI\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Abiana - SHIKA (Official Music Video)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UVCqUlhbwbI?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt has taught me to know my music very well and even made me to learn the guitar because I really wanted to write my own music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll these were lessons and education that I took from the band and now I am putting them into myself as Abiana and my music,\u201d she told Prime Morning co-host, KMJ.<\/p>\n<p>Born Elda Dickson Naa Abiana, the musician noted that her ability to learn how to play the guitar helped her to understand what she does as a musician.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I play this song, I should be able to understand what each and every instrument is saying; I should know what kind of music that I want to put out,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"558\" height=\"455\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Abiana.jpg\" alt=\"My live band experience has helped me to know music very well \u2013 Abiana\" class=\"wp-image-10031859461 lazy\"  data- title=\"My live band experience has helped me to know music very well \u2013 Abiana\"\/><figcaption>Singer and songwriter, Abiana<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Abiana stressed that she would chose live band music over any other style of performance.<\/p>\n<p>This is because \u201cwith the live band, there are different energies coming together to propel that same thing. As a musician, you are just trying to imbibe all those energies together because if the drama is slow, you are also going to be slow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if the drummer has the energy and everybody is enjoying it, we are all in sink together and the music becomes one beautiful thing and everyone is just engulfed in what you are doing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Soul-Life\u2019 hitmaker has worked with the likes of Papa Yanskon, Amandzeba Nat Brew and Akosua Adjepong.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, veteran musician Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has asked \u2018young\u2019 musicians to learn best practices from older ones in the industry.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"462\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Gyedu-Blay-Ambolley-1024x462.jpg\" alt=\"My live band experience has helped me to know music very well \u2013 Abiana\" class=\"wp-image-10032020574 lazy\"  data- title=\"My live band experience has helped me to know music very well \u2013 Abiana\"\/><figcaption>Veteran highlife musician, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He believes \u201cthe new crop of musicians are not learning from some of us and it is so sad; they enter the studio and in the next minute, they are out with a song.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot anyone at all is a musician because of a computer fine-tuning voices to sound good.
