American rapper Kanye West is the latest artiste to be enamoured by Nigerian musician Wizkid\u2019s hit song \u2018Essence\u2019.<\/p>\n
According to Kanye West, the song, released in October 2020, is the best song in the history of music to date.<\/p>\n
Talking to Instagram, Kanye shared a screenshot of the song\u2019s over art with his millions of followers.<\/p>\n His post got many people reacting including model and friend of Wizkid, Naomi Campbell. \u201cYes !!!! Thank You @kanyewest @wizkidayo @tems \u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83d\udd25\u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83d\udd25\u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83d\udd25\u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83d\udd25\ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddec\ud83d\ude4c\ud83c\udffe\ud83d\ude4c\ud83c\udffe,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n \u2018Essence\u2019 featuring Nigerian singer\/songwriter Tems off the album became an international success after the Made In Lagos album was released.<\/p>\n The song later got a remix which featured pop star, Justin Bieber, and was dubbed one of the summer tracks of 2021.<\/p>\n The remix landed on the Billboard Hot 100, spent 35 weeks on the chart and peaked at number nine. The song has spent 23 weeks on the Billboard Afrobeats Chart, peaked at number one and is currently at number three.<\/p>\n The song also went two time platinum in the USA.<\/p>\n \u2018Essence\u2019 was awarded the \u2018Best Collaboration\u2019 at the 2020 BET Awards making Wizkid and Tems the first ever African artistes to win a major BET award category.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, \u2018Made In Lagos\u2019 is certified gold in the United States of America (USA).<\/p>\n The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced the certification on Monday, August 29 after over 500,000 copies of the album were sold in the United States.<\/p>\n Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is the first African artiste to have an album certified RIAA Gold.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"Wizkid's](\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Essence-1024x666.jpg\" "\\"Wizkid's")
