The Judicial Service is not buying the vehicle for them and actually to them, it is you that is being offered. So you have to ensure that the State Transport Company did evaluation,\u201d he told Emefa Apawu.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p><div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"RtUz0iEjEek\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Auditor-General breaching law by not surcharging indited public institutions - Klutse Avedzi\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RtUz0iEjEek?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The regulation provides that the Principal Spending Officer of a covered entity shall obtain the prior written approval of the Minister for the transfer, exchange, sale, donation, contribution-in-kind, trust and any other disposal of any vehicles of the covered entity.<\/p>\n<p>Regulation 158 also states that any such disposal, lease and other action referred to in Sub-regulation 1 that is made without the written approval of the Minister, is void.<\/p>\n<p>However, the report revealed that some judges,  recently retired Supreme Court judges, Yaw Appau and Julius Ansah have acquired state-owned vehicles contrary to the provisions of this law.<\/p>\n<p>The Auditor-General, therefore, wants the vehicles recovered.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, James Klutse Avedzie worried about the manner in which some 19 vehicles were auctioned to judges in 2021.
