Many Ghanaians were thrown aback due to the revelation that the country recorded an amount of GH\u20b517 billion in financial irregularities.<\/p>\n<p>Public institutions  the Finance Ministry, Economic and Organised Crime (EOCO), the Judiciary among others were indicted.<\/p>\n<p>However, the CSOs are unhappy that the Auditor-General did not implement measures that will help the nation recover the misappropriated funds.<\/p>\n<p>In their view, it is not in the national interest for the Ghana Audit Service to merely document the corruption taking place in public institutions.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p><div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"_98SBvAHKPE\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Klutse Avedzi worried about auction process of vehicles to 16 judges in A-G report\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_98SBvAHKPE?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe Auditor-General should do more than just document and memorialise these occurrences,\u201d a fellow at CDD-Ghana, Prof Kwaku Asare opined on Saturday\u2019s Newsfile.<\/p>\n<p>It is on the back of this that the CSOs have united to embark on this protest to drum home their displeasure.<\/p>\n<p>And Mr Avedzi has thrown his unwavering support to the pressure groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw the letters from some of the CSOs written to the Auditor General, demanding what action has been taken on the ruling of the Supreme Court and surcharge. And in those letters, no reply have been given by the Auditor General.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve also written to the Attorney General, demanding actions that the Attorney General so take all this issue.
