He explains Black Stars players, particularly him, was looking for a goal from that Luis Suarez handball instead of a penalty, but the latter was a legitimate call from the referee. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/784511d4b6ae40b5b5c4cc03b3ad95ba\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/818cd33d31af4bab83e94cdf695305bc\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a difficult moment where everyone wanted a goal. You should let the referee understand every mistake that you do. I rushed to the referee to let him know that it was a penalty. I wanted a goal and not a penalty. We thought it was a goal. But once the referee waved his hands we knew it was a penalty. He told TV3. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/89a85a04ae1641f4b113083129dfb7ad\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/031f99353ad34904bcbb57fe69f27807\"\/>The former Sunderland defender indicated the players wanted to make Africa proud based on the support they had from fellow Africans at the first and only World Cup to be hosted in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor where we go to, we aimed at making Africa proud. We represented Africa because of the love Nelson Mandela people showed me. In fact Luis Suarez did great disservice to us. At club level in England, they thought I will hurt Suarez.
