Before, she fit in between being Black and white.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I think for us, it\u2019s so different because we\u2019re light-skinned, Meghan told the singer. You\u2019re not treated as a Black woman. You\u2019re not treated as a white woman. Because up until then, I had been treated like a mixed woman. And things really shifted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Don Lemon Responds<\/h2>\n<p>Don Lemon, a CNN host, responded to Markle\u2019s comments and stated she benefitted from privilege.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>What she is coming from is a place of privilege where she did not have to deal with racism until she married a white man,\u201d Lemon said. \u201cAnd she\u2019s got all this criticism and all this attention.
