They cannot move beyond the shores of this country because they have branded themselves within the context of Ghana,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Branding enables one to develop brand equity, become different from other artistes, enhance sales and visibility, and also become a professional musician.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p><div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"HzpdZq7Hlo0\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Most Ghanaian musicians are &#039;local champions&#039;- Branding Expert\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HzpdZq7Hlo0?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Prof. Akyeampong, contends that musicians such as Sarkodie and other female artistes have an appealing brand that sets them apart from the pack.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cIf you really know your worth and your brand, you\u2019ll not appear before any organizers and they\u2019ll ask you how much you\u2019ll charge. And you\u2019ll tell them that, all things being equal, whatever you give me, I\u2019ll take it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Branding Expert also believes the ignorance of some artistes\u2019 managers is a major contributory factor to the poor branding of most musicians.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the managers are fixated on maximising profit at the expense of investing in the branding of the artistes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re interested in raking in money without investing in the brand management of the musicians,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Osei Akyeampong admonished emerging musicians to identify and focus on a unique brand rather than being associated with multiple identities.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the show, Acting President of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, encouraged upcoming musicians to intensify their branding, saying it helps in increasing finances.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cIf I\u2019m not wearing my hat, you\u2019ll not recognize me.
