Ghana and Nigeria has a lot in common, from local dishes, to entertainment to language. The difference between Nigeria pidgin and Ghana pidgin is the function of the language. As a result it has been a major factor of how they are developed and spoken. Ghanaian pidgin was created as an easier way to communicate but it is still not comprehensible to outsiders. Nigerian pidgin, on the other hand, is used as a form of social commentary or as vernacular.<\/p>\n

Nigeria pidgins are more difficult to learn but also more creative in their expression. This is because they are less regimented than Ghanaian pidgins which are not only hard to understand but also less expressive because they have fewer words and phrases at their disposal than Nigerian pidgins.<\/p>\n
A pidgin is an informal language that is developed to help different people communicate. Although these languages are often referred to as \u201cinferior\u201d by many, they are actually a product of the bilingualism that is found in many countries. Pidgins can be seen in countries such as Africa and Jamaica, where a number of people are fluent in both English and one of the country\u2019s indigenous languages.<\/p>\n
There are pidgins such as Nigerian pidgin, Jamaican patois and Ghanaian Akanji that have been developed as a result of colonialism. Nigerian pidgin has been designated to help Nigerians communicate with British citizens, who speak English Yhh. Ghanaian Akanji has been designed for use with the native Twi-speaking population that does not speak English very well<\/p>\n
