\nStudents have been warned by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to use “negotiations and dialogue” rather than violence, which causes property damage. “I am not quite sure who benefits from that,\u201d he wondered.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t see that anybody benefits from that kind of behaviour.\u201d This warning was given by President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House, when he was visited by recently elected NUGS leaders.<\/p>\n
The leaders were in the White House to see the President, present themselves to him, and express gratitude for some of his administration’s pro-student policies.<\/p>\n

President Akufo-Addo apologized to the student leaders for the recent use of violence by some students to air their frustrations and called it “distressing.”<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s distressing to wake up or to hear that students activities which ought to be, normally, without violence end up in halls fighting each other and destroying properties.\u201d<\/p>\n
As a result, he urged for open communication in which “everybody puts their card fully on the table.” NUGS was praised by President Akufo-Addo for contributing to “finding solutions to the problem and not having to resort to violence.”<\/p>\n
