Kim Kardashian\u2019s company SKIMS is being sued by a woman claiming its body tape damaged her skin.<\/p>\n
The 41-year-old reality star \u2013 who founded the shapewear brand back in 2019 \u2013 is reportedly being taken to court by a woman called Noelle Smith, who alleges that she \u201cincurred expenses for medical care\u201d and slammed the company for failing to be reasonable and seek to design body tape that don\u2019t rip off the user\u2019s skin.\u201c<\/p>\n

Legal documents obtained by The Blast read: \u201cWhen manufacturers do not make their products safe as is technologically and economically feasible and someone is hurt, they are responsible for the harm,\u201d the lawsuit states.<\/p>\n
After releasing the body tape to the public, the consumers started lodging public complains about the body tape damaging skin.<\/p>\n
However, just hours after the lawsuit was filed, \u201cThe Kardashians\u201d star explained through a representative that she believed the product in question to be a \u201cfake\u201d version of her SKIMS tape when it emerged that Smith made the purchase on Amazon, where the genuine SKIMS tape is not sold.<\/p>\n
A representative told TMZ: \u201cWe take feedback from our customers very seriously. Upon further review of this specific complaint, we have discovered that the customer purchased what appears to be fake tape from Amazon, who is not an authorised or official retailer of SKIMS products. <\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately counterfeit items have become commonplace for the brand and we strongly advise our customers to only purchase from SKIMS or any of our official retail partners which can be found on our website to ensure that they receive authentic products that meet our quality standards.\u201d<\/p>\n
