Mr. Ntarmah sustained an injury on his forehead when he hit it against an old erected signboard at the Adabraka Polyclinic Bus Stop on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitnesses who witnessed the accident said, \u201cthis unused signboard wounds many pedestrians and this is not the first time and you are not the first victim.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-08-30-at-1.39.21-PM-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"MLGWUI calls for removal of unathourised street signboards\" class=\"wp-image-10032161991\"   title=\"MLGWUI calls for removal of unathourised street signboards\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The said signboard is on a pedestrian walkway and low enough for anyone to hit his or her head if care is not taken. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-08-30-at-1.39.30-PM-498x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"MLGWUI calls for removal of unathourised street signboards\" class=\"wp-image-10032161989\" width=\"835\" height=\"1717\"   title=\"MLGWUI calls for removal of unathourised street signboards\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The victim said, \u201cGod has given knowledge to engineers and certain people wisdom in road and city planning to plan for pedestrians\u2019 movement on road and streets. However some authorities are not doing their work with supervision. If an action is not immediately taken, it will be the turn of some authorities\u2019 relatives, or tourists or foreigners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MLGWUI therefore suggested to Ministry of Roads and Highways, AMA, Signage and Advertising Associations to set up signage standard measurements, heights, right post\/positions and life span\/period of each erection of signboard on the road or street sides to avoid causing harm or accidents to motorists and pedestrians.<\/p>\n<p>MLGWUI appealed to the relevant authorities to immediately form an operation team as part of AMA and Operation Clean Your Frontage activities to remove wrong and unauthorised signboards on Major, Highways, Urban roads and streets.<\/p>\n<p>The MLGWUI appealed to the media, \u201cto go and see the said signboard at Adabraka Polyclinic Bus Stop and report to the authorities to find out the responsible Signage Advertiser as well as go rounds to check all signboards or signage billboard objects wrongly erected throughout the country with a view to reducing preventable accidents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                <!-- Post Tags --><\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Migrant Labour General Workers\u2019 Union International (MLGWUI) has called on the Ministry of Roads and Highways, Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA), District Assemblies, Signage and Advertising Associations to remove old\/unused and unauthorised billboards from pedestrian walkways.
