{"id":1194880,"date":"2022-08-30T15:30:45","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T15:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/30\/21-top-ec-managers-failed-to-declare-their-assets-auditor-generals-report\/"},"modified":"2022-08-30T15:30:45","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T15:30:45","slug":"21-top-ec-managers-failed-to-declare-their-assets-auditor-generals-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/30\/21-top-ec-managers-failed-to-declare-their-assets-auditor-generals-report\/","title":{"rendered":"21 top EC managers failed to declare their assets &#8211; Auditor-General&#8217;s report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-text\" style=\"line-height: 2; letter-spacing: -0.5px;font-size: 18px;\">\n<p>                        <!--p class=\"ky_saved_articles_link\"><span class=\"ky_saved_articles_hide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" class=\"ky_saved_articles_img\" alt=\"21 top EC managers failed to declare their assets - Auditor-General's report\" title=\"21 top EC managers failed to declare their assets - Auditor-General's report\"><\/span> Bookmark<\/p-->\n<p>The Auditor-General has revealed that 21 officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) failed to declare their assets. <\/p>\n<p>The Auditor-General in its 2020 report, also discovered that the officials failed to provide reports on Police background checks on themselves.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, all employees were expected to state: \u201cDate of Birth certified by an original birth certificate or affidavit, hometown, whether convicted of criminal offence and number of children, next of kin, among others contained in a standard form.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, 21 of the officials, none of them had personal records, passport pictures, Police background check reports and declaration of assets and liabilities on their files.<\/p>\n<p>The Auditor-General in its 2020 report also found that the Electoral Commission did not have a register to capture its assets across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Auditor-General has drawn the attention of the Management of the Commission to the findings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn accordance with Article 9 (2) of the Agreement, Non-provision of these personal records on the personal files amounted to concealment of facts and intentionally refusing to provide them and could lead to the risk of termination of employment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Auditor-General also directed the Commission to get an Asset Register to capture all of its assets dotted across the country.<\/p>\n<p>                <!-- Post Tags --><\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Auditor-General has revealed that 21 officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) failed to declare their assets.
