Damoah Sacked From Customs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<article>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/b4612295b05f411e828cd5993f1020a6\" alt=\"Col Damoah removed from office; 'hand over your duties and office' - Presidency orders | Ghanaian American News\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nColonel (Rtd) Kwadjo Damoah, the man cited in the recent corruption related investigation by the Office\n<\/p>\n<p>\nof the Special Prosecutor, has been relieved of his duties as the Commissioner of the Customs division of\n<\/p>\n<p>\nthe Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).\n<\/p>\n<p>\nA Letter from the Jubilee House signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatu Asante directs\n<\/p>\n<p>\nColonel (Rtd) Damoah to leave his role effective Friday, August 26, 2026.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cFollowing the expiration of your contract of service as Commissioner (Customs Division) of the Ghana\n<\/p>\n<p>\nRevenue Authority on 13th October 2021, the President of the Republic has directed that effective\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFriday 26th August 2022, you hand over your duties and office to the acting Deputy Commissioner\n<\/p>\n<p>\n(Preventive Division)\u201d, portions of the said letter release.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/6fbe8131596742829e9af16d836d9c17\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOver the past few weeks, the Special Prosecutor and Colonel Kwadwo Damoah have been at each\n<\/p>\n<p>\nother\u2019s throat over the corruption-related investigation involving the Labianca Company Limited, owned\n<\/p>\n<p>\nby a member of the Council of State, Ms Asomah-Hinneh.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFindings from the investigative report released by the OSP indicted the Commissioner of Customs for\n<\/p>\n<p>\nallegedly giving Labianca some GH\u00a21.074 million tax reduction in liabilities owed the state.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nColonel Damoah has rebuffed the report, describing it as \u201chollow and without substance\u201d, taking a\n<\/p>\n<p>\nswipe at the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyabenga, referring to him as a \u201csmall boy\u201d.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe OSP has also, in a recent release to commence investigations into suspected corruption with respect\n<\/p>\n<p>\nto auction sales of vehicles and goods by the Customs Division of the GRA, directed Colonel Damoah, to\n<\/p>\n<p>\nproduce some documents related to the subject matter of the investigation before August 30, 2022.\n<\/p>\n<p>Content created and supplied by: OEntertainment (via  Opera<br \/>\nNews )<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p class=\"copyright hide\">\n<span class=\"content\">    ,  .   ,     .
