Please add more time so we can pack our belongings and evacuate the premise. My child is about to write Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), please give us time,\u201c one resident said.<\/p>\n<p>Another added, \u201cI don\u2019t have anywhere to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-08-25-at-9.14.47-AM.jpeg\" alt=\"Maamobi residents protest 21-day deadline to vacate\" class=\"wp-image-10032158683\"   title=\"Maamobi residents protest 21-day deadline to vacate\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>On his part, an assemblyman, Wisdom Boateng, also said they inherited their abodes from their forbearers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe land was given to us by our predecessors by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA). So we have been on the land since 1967 up to date and we have even paid revenue to then AMA and the current Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want the government to intervene in this decision because we are citizens. We can\u2019t just use one week or 21 days to evacuate the premises. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have resided on the land since 1967, so we are not foreigners, we are Ghanaians. \u201cSo the state should have some patience with us.
