{"id":1190397,"date":"2022-08-25T17:50:20","date_gmt":"2022-08-25T17:50:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/25\/agyeman-badu-explains-why-he-joined-great-olympics\/"},"modified":"2022-08-25T17:50:20","modified_gmt":"2022-08-25T17:50:20","slug":"agyeman-badu-explains-why-he-joined-great-olympics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/25\/agyeman-badu-explains-why-he-joined-great-olympics\/","title":{"rendered":"Agyeman Badu explains why he joined Great Olympics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"550\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image_2022-08-25_145847386-696x550.png\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Emmanuel Agyeman Badu\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Great Olympics midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, says he joined the club ahead of the 2022\/23 Ghana Premier League because he still wanted to be fit.<\/p>\n<p>Badu joined the Wonder Club earlier this month and made his debut during the 2022 Ghana League Club\u2019s Association\u2019s (GHALCA) G6 tournament.<\/p>\n<p>He becomes the latest \u2018big name\u2019 player to return to the domestic scene after Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari and Samuel Inkoom in the last two years.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Joy Sports, Badu said his decision to sign for the club was due to the desire to stay fit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had some two solid offers [from Europe] that they brought to me but considering some things in the contract I don\u2019t think it was favourable for me. I couldn\u2019t also wait for another offer to come,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was better that I joined a club and work on my ITC (International Transfer Certificate) so that I can be very fit. Training alone and training with a club is different. I had a call from Olympics and I said \u2018okay let me think about it.\u2019 I sat down with my team and we thought about it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a good opportunity for me not to stay at home and be rusty because I haven\u2019t stopped playing football.
