But, in 2001, the entire nation had to define corruption.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when Kufuor told us corruption is everywhere, in Europe, in Asia etc. and that corruption began in the Garden of Eden as if he didn&#8217;t know what they meant when they said John Rawlings&#8217; administration was corrupt and promised Zero Tolerance for Corruption.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/9e3b4430917f49d6bed991011136deca\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Once they&#8217;re in power, every issue becomes nebulous, and the supposed intellectuals mostly compromised go along with their senseless narrative.&#8221; Raymond remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Didn&#8217;t we know Corruption and Conflict of interest before 1992 or 2000?\u00a0If we didn&#8217;t, what did we mean by corruption and conflict of interest then? If we didn&#8217;t understand corruption, how did we understand Zero Tolerance for Corruption to vote for it?\u00a0He added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His comments is based on the purpoted conflict of interest tagged to the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta and his databank for acting as advisor to government on loans. This was revealed by KKD, that Ken&#8217;s bank shouldn&#8217;t be the ones doing that job.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/1b8d76475cba40e2b00b887b14c4ff2f\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>What Is Conflict of Interest <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the public sector context, a \u2018conflict of interest\u2019 is a situation where a conflict arises between public duty and private interest.<\/p>\n<p>The issue is NEVER whether or not Databank was in that business in the past, or they are most experienced firm in Bond Management.<\/p>\n<p>The real issue here is, whether by being a beneficial owner of Databank, the private interest of the Finance Minister is likely to effect any decision he makes while in that public office, especially at a time DataBank has become the darling boy contractor under that Ministry and its agencies.<\/p>\n<p>Content created and supplied by: Currentworldnews (via  Opera<br \/>\nNews )<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p class=\"copyright hide\">\n<span class=\"content\">    ,  .   ,     .
