Cristiano Ronaldo has been cautioned by Merseyside Police after he appeared to\u00a0slap a phone out of a fan\u2019s hand\u00a0following Manchester United\u2019s\u00a01-0 defeat to Everton\u00a0at Goodison Park in April.<\/p>\n
Video footage of the incident emerged on social media, and showed the striker storming down the tunnel after the match before taking his frustration out on a young Everton fan\u2019s mobile phone.<\/p>\n
A statement from Merseyside Police revealed a 37-year-old man \u201cvoluntarily\u201d attended an interview under caution, and that the matter is now concluded.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can confirm that a 37-year-old man voluntarily attended and was interviewed under caution in relation to an allegation of assault and criminal damage,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe allegation relates to an incident following the Everton v Manchester United football match at Goodison Park on Saturday April 9.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe matter has been dealt with by way of conditional caution. The matter has now concluded.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ronaldo\u00a0reportedly apologised to the 14-year-old boy\u00a0before he agreed to pay compensation, the\u00a0Daily Mail\u00a0<\/em>said.<\/p>\n Shortly after the altercation, the young fan\u2019s mother claimed Ronaldo \u201cassaulted\u201d her son, by bruising his hand.<\/p>\n She told the\u00a0Liverpool ECHO<\/em>: \u201cWe were right by the tunnel where they came walking past \u2014 my son was there videoing them all. And then he lowered his phone because Ronaldo had pulled down his sock and his leg was bleeding.<\/p>\n \u201cHe lowered his phone to see what it was \u2014 he didn\u2019t even speak. Ronaldo then just walked past, with a terrible, terrible temper and smashed the phone out of my son\u2019s hand and carried on walking.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s an autistic boy and he\u2019s been assaulted by a football player, that\u2019s how I see it as a mum.\u201d<\/p>\n After the game, Ronaldo took to Instagram to apologise for his \u201coutburst\u201d as he struggled to contain his emotions during a \u201cdifficult\u201d time.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cNevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.<\/p>\n \u201cI would like to apologise for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship.\u201d<\/p>\n Ronaldo is in the middle of a\u00a0whirlwind transfer saga\u00a0as he searches for a way out of Old Trafford this summer, and has recently slammed the media for \u201ctelling lies\u201d when speculating his future.<\/p>\n The striker has promised\u00a0the truth will be revealed\u00a0in a matter of weeks, during a tell-all interview.<\/p>\n Manchester United, who have lost their opening two Premier League games and sit bottom of the table, are back in action on Monday night when they host Liverpool.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-334.png\")
