The National Secretary of the Customs Staff Association, Gift Emmanuel Kofi Tsamah has responded to the query issued to him by Management of the Ghana Revenue Authority.<\/p>\n
According to him, he obtained lawful authority before participating in the discussion on \u2018The Probe\u2019 on Sunday, August 14, 2022.<\/p>\n
In a response dated August 17, 2022, Mr Tsamah said, \u201cit is my humble and respectful submission that the said press engagement by my good self was carried out pursuant to lawful authority.<\/p>\n
Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) queried Mr. Tsamah for participating in a media discussion without approval.<\/p>\n
The officer participated in The Probe<\/strong>\u00a0to discuss mechanisms to improve the revenue collection at the Tema port in the wake of the Special Prosecutor\u2019s damning findings into Labianca \u2019s dealings with the Customs Division of GRA.<\/p>\n But a query signed by the Authority\u2019s Acting Head of Human Resources, Akua Mpiani-Brobbe said the Secretary acted contrary to the rules of the Authority.<\/p>\n In his reply, Mr. Tsamah wrote, \u201cat all material times, my appearance and participation in the said programme was in a representative capacity as the National Secretary of the CSA and not in my individual capacity as an employee of the Authority. Also, it must be placed on record that even though by practice and conventions the Staff Association does not seek such express permission in order to engage the media, on this occasion, the leadership went outside this convention.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFollowing from the above and by parity of reasoning, it is my humble and respectful Please see full reply to the query below:<\/p>\n
