Fans gathered on Hollywood Blvd. for the presentation, which kicked off with an impromptu rendition of \u201cHappy Birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Family members shared touching tributes to the rapper, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, while Nipsey\u2019s peers including YG, Roddy Ricch, Russell Westbrook, and Saweetie were also in attendance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-237313 lazyloaded\" title=\"Nipsey Hussle receives posthumous star on Hollywood Walk of Fame 69\" alt=\"nip fam 2\" width=\"616\" height=\"756\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/nip-fam-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Dressed in all white, Lauren London was first to speak. She took the podium as Kross, her 5-year-old son with Nipsey, looked on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to first start by saying happy birthday Hussle,\u201d London said. \u201cI think I speak for the entire city of L.A. when I say that we\u2019ve always known Hussle was destined for greatness. This moment only amplifies that for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNip would have been honoured by this moment,\u201d she continued. \u201cWhenever you\u2019re in the City of Angels and you see this star, I hope it encourages you to break away from whatever might be holding you back and for you to run your marathon until God says it\u2019s finished.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-237314 lazyloaded\" title=\"Nipsey Hussle receives posthumous star on Hollywood Walk of Fame 70\" alt=\"nip fam1\" width=\"588\" height=\"772\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/nip-fam1.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Nipsey\u2019s sister Samantha Smith reflected on the \u201cbittersweet\u201d occasion. \u201cProud is an understatement. Nip the great, look at who you are, look at what you did,\u201d she said. \u201cI am in awe, but I\u2019m not surprised. You\u2019ve been a star in my eyes, the family\u2019s eyes, God\u2019s eyes, far before the accolades caught up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nipsey\u2019s father, Dawit Asghedom, thanked the fans for all their support. \u201cA tragedy like Ermias\u2019 murder can act to bring us together,\u201d he said. \u201cAlthough he was taken from us too soon, he will live in our hearts and minds forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-237312 lazyloaded\" title=\"Nipsey Hussle receives posthumous star on Hollywood Walk of Fame 71\" alt=\"nip fam 3\" width=\"598\" height=\"766\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/nip-fam-3.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>His grandmother, Margaret Boutte, was the final speaker, sharing heartfelt words about her late grandson, who was killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in March 2019. \u201cNipsey was the love of my life,\u201d she said. \u201cAlways very respectful. I miss him, but I look at his picture and remember all the wonderful times we had together\u2026 He will never be gone in my heart.
