Ne-Yo\u00a0has opened up more about his marital issues with Crystal Smith. <\/p>\n
In a sneak peek of his \u201cDrink Champs\u201d interview, the \u201cMiss Independent\u201d crooner admitted that they lacked communication with one another before the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight before the pandemic was when things were at its worst,\u201d the 42-year-old told hosts N.O.R.E a.k.a.\u00a0Noreaga<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0DJ EFN<\/strong>. \u201cJust couldn\u2019t talk to each other. Like it\u2019s clearly beef but I\u2019m on tour I\u2019ll see you in three weeks. That type of thing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo when the pandemic hit and everybody had to go home it kinda forced us to sit in each other\u2019s face and talk about the stuff that we just weren\u2019t talking about,\u201d the crooner added. \u201cSo when the pandemic hit there was a multitude of places that I coulda went, but in the beginning, they weren\u2019t really telling us nothing so I\u2019m like, listen cats are dying and we gotta go home.<\/p>\n Ne-Yo went on to recall, \u201cI\u2019m gonna go to my house house. I\u2019m gonna go where I know my kids are at, where I know my mama at, where I know my wife who doesn\u2019t like me right now but it\u2019s alright cause if we gonna die we gonna figure it out.\u201d He continued, \u201cThat was the thought process.\u201d<\/p>\n Ne-Yo and Crystal tied the knot in 2016. After calling it quits in early 2020, they reconciled. The crooner proposed to Crystal once again on New Year\u2019s Eve and eventually remarried in April on a rooftop of the new Resorts World complex in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n However, in late July, Crystal\u00a0exposed\u00a0Ne-Yo for his alleged cheating habits. \u201c8 years. 8 years of lies and deception. 8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and my husband with numerous women who sell their bodies to him unprotected\u2026every last one of them! To say I\u2019m heartbroken and disgusted is a understatement,\u201d she lamented in a lengthy Instagram post.<\/p>\n Crystal\u00a0filed\u00a0a divorce from his now-estranged husband on August 1. Citing that their marriage is \u201cirretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation,\u201d she added in her court documents that he \u201cfathered a child with another woman.\u201d She listed the date of their separation as July 22, 2022.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n
