I have never picked up anything, but I feel like I am putting in so much work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FHitz1039%2Fvideos%2F636097057578628%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=560&#038;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Jeje\u2019 singer believes that her silence about the feeling of being blacklisted creates the perception from fans that she is nonchalant about it, but that is just an assumption.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can sometimes sit on my bed and cry my eyes out. I get into my feelings sometimes. They [fans] don\u2019t know what I am going through. I am suffering just like you,\u201d she said on\u00a0<strong>Daybreak Hitz<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>Hitz FM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from feeling blacklisted by award shows, the \u2018Corner Corner\u2019 singer spoke on how she got booked by event organizers, at lower performance fees, only to be replaced later by other female artistes who were paid more than her initial charge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomebody will call me for a show and be like \u2018Afia, I want you for a show. I will give you an amount of money (a small amount)\u2019 but the same person will call another female artiste, give her double of what they were giving me, and push me to the side \u2013 take me off the show. It\u2019s happened to me countless times. And I don\u2019t know what I have done to these event organizers,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n<p>That, according to the singer, is just one of the many incidents that brewed the feeling of neglect by the industry in her.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that, she wouldn\u2019t want to be further blacklisted, therefore, she will rather keep most of the challenges she faces in the music scene to herself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are a lot of things I could say but do I want to be blacklisted more? No. I will just keep my mouth shut and do what I have to do,\u201d said the \u2018Weather\u2019 singer.<\/p>\n<p>She concluded by saying that her fans are the only people who motivate her to keep doing music.<\/p>\n<p>Sista Afia is currently on a media tour for the promotion of her latest single,\u00a0<em>Makw\u025b<\/em>, which means, \u2018I will see\u2019 in the Ga language.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Singer and songwriter Francisca Gawugah, known by the stage name Sista Afia says that she feels sidelined by the Ghanaian music industry.
