{"id":1173143,"date":"2022-08-10T17:13:52","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T17:13:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/10\/increased-foreign-investment-is-a-must-for-ghana\/"},"modified":"2022-08-10T17:13:52","modified_gmt":"2022-08-10T17:13:52","slug":"increased-foreign-investment-is-a-must-for-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/10\/increased-foreign-investment-is-a-must-for-ghana\/","title":{"rendered":"Increased foreign investment is a must for Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Joe Ghartey, has said that the country should do all it can to continue to attract foreign investment.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ghartey, who is the author of Ghana\u2019s leading legal text on foreign investment, \u2018Doing Business and Investing in Ghana\u2019, made this comment after successful meetings with business leaders interested in a wide range of businesses.<\/p>\n<p>He used the occasion to brief the business leaders on the legal framework for doing business and investing in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>For those interested in the petrochemical sector, Joe Ghartey informed the potential investors of recent developments in the industry in Ghana  the establishment of an institutional framework for the sector which is seeking to create a petrochemical hub.<\/p>\n<p>Other areas investors showed interest in were large-scale mining, ICT, education and renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p>The investors asked about Ghana\u2019s economic situation, but after discussions, it was agreed that the current situation would not last forever and should not influence medium to long-term investments.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Ghartey returned to Ghana on the 8th of August after a week of successful business promotion in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Joe Ghartey, has said that the country should do all it can to continue to attract foreign investment.
