{"id":1171058,"date":"2022-08-09T02:22:03","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T02:22:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/09\/another-massive-demo-set-to-hit-government\/"},"modified":"2022-08-09T02:22:03","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T02:22:03","slug":"another-massive-demo-set-to-hit-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/09\/another-massive-demo-set-to-hit-government\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Massive Demo Set To Hit Government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<article>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/aaa6ca520a9c4809a19c8093a7cc559f\" height=\"170\" width=\"297\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">A Northern based group calling itself Coalition of Progressive Forces in Northern Ghana (COP-Northern Ghana) has served notice of an impending demonstration dubbed \u201cMiisim Demo\u201d in Tamale.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">The demo, according to COP-Northern Ghana, is aimed at drawing the government&#8217;s attention to the economic hardship, heightened insecurity and corruption in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/a067cca6d8e24576997a6b145ecc4a82\" height=\"158\" width=\"300\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">The protest, which is slated for August 20, 2022, will also speak to human right abuse, inequalities in the system and the worsening conditions of service of public servants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">The \u2018<\/span><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Miisim Demo\u2019<\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"> is a non-partisan civil exercise with the sole aim of alerting the government to the plights of the citizenry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Organizers of the Demo say they hope to mobilize over 1000 people, drawn from Teacher Unions, Nurses, Market women, driver unions, Politicians, youth groups, civil servants, academia, welders and artisans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">The converging point for the demonstration, according to the organizers, will be at the Jubilee Park and they will march through principal streets in Tamale to drum home their concerns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">They assured that measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and peaceful demonstration devoid of any inconveniences to commuters and ordinary persons on the route they intend to take on August 20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Content created and supplied by: OPolitics (via  Opera<br \/>\nNews )<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p class=\"copyright hide\">\n<span class=\"content\">    ,  .   ,     .
