{"id":1169746,"date":"2022-08-07T19:36:54","date_gmt":"2022-08-07T19:36:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/07\/commonwealth-hall-disassociates-itself-from-violence-on-ug-campus\/"},"modified":"2022-08-07T19:36:54","modified_gmt":"2022-08-07T19:36:54","slug":"commonwealth-hall-disassociates-itself-from-violence-on-ug-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/07\/commonwealth-hall-disassociates-itself-from-violence-on-ug-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Commonwealth Hall disassociates itself from violence on UG campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-text\" style=\"line-height: 2; letter-spacing: -0.5px;font-size: 18px;\">\n<p>                        <!--p class=\"ky_saved_articles_link\"><span class=\"ky_saved_articles_hide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" class=\"ky_saved_articles_img\" alt=\"Commonwealth Hall disassociates itself from violence on UG campus\" title=\"Commonwealth Hall disassociates itself from violence on UG campus\"><\/span> Bookmark<\/p-->\n<p>A Resident Hall on the University of Ghana campus, Commonwealth Hall has disassociated itself from the violence that took place on Friday, August 5.<\/p>\n<p>The Hall, in a communique co-signed by JCR President, Paul Anim Inkoom and JCR Secretary, Daniel Kofi Boakye, noted that \u201cThe attention of the leadership of Commonwealth Hall Junior Common Room (JCR) has been drawn to some media reportage and a press release emanating from the University Management dated 6th August 2022, echoing a clash between students of Commonwealth Hall and Mensah Sarbah Hall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the leadership of the Hall, \u201cCommonwealth Hall has not engaged in any such acts of violence\u201d, adding that \u201cwe hereby condemn any attempt by any office or media house to put the Hall\u2019s name into disrepute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This, the leadership of Commonwealth explained, is because \u201cCommonwealth Hall prides itself as a citadel of excellence and  any form of violence of which the said incidence is no exception.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"698\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Commonwealth-Hall-698x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Commonwealth Hall disassociates itself from violence on UG campus\" class=\"wp-image-10032148058\"   title=\"Commonwealth Hall disassociates itself from violence on UG campus\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cCommonwealth Hall JCR seeks to, by this communique, dissociate itself from the said acts of violence,\u201d part of the release stated.<\/p>\n<p>Commonwealth Hall JCR further commended the security agencies for the swift intervention in bringing the situation under control on the said day.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-myjoyonline-com wp-block-embed-myjoyonline-com\"\/>\n<p>They went on to call \u201con appropriate authorities to punish those found culpable of this lawless act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                <!-- Post Tags --><\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Resident Hall on the University of Ghana campus, Commonwealth Hall has disassociated itself from the violence that took place on Friday, August 5.
