On Friday 5th August 2022, Johnny Hughes made some wild revelations on the Fix the Country Movement. He explained that, while the country was celebrating Founders’ Day on August 4, 2022, he could recall that the ‘fix the country ‘concept would also be one year on this year’s Founders’ Day. <\/span><\/p>\n The broadcast journalist stated that he does not have a short memory and he could remember how the government developed a website to showcase its achievements on a website. He exclaimed that the government used state funds to design the website in NPP colors and that did not show how patriotic the government is. He, therefore, asked about the efficiency of the website purposely dedicated to explaining what the government has done.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Johnny Hughes, when the fix the country came up a year ago, the people questioned agriculture, security, and a host of issues. He stated that Hopeson Adorye and some leaders in parliament such as Annor Dompreh came out to shut down the “fix the country ” by asking Ghanaians to “fix themselves first.<\/p>\n Annoh-Dompreh graduated from the\u00a0University of Cape Coast\u00a0with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture. He also studied at Mountcrest University where he obtained\u00a0LLB<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0LLM<\/span>.<\/p>\n The MP started his engagement in politics as a student politician when he contested and was elected as president of the National Union of Ghana Students while a student at the University of Cape Coast in 2000.\u00a0He was later selected as the Eastern regional Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party.<\/p>\n In 2012, He contested in the NPP Parliamentary primaries against Seth Wiafe Danquah and was given the nod by delegates in the constituency to represent them in the\u00a02012 Ghanaian parliamentary election<\/span>\u00a0by obtaining 366 out of the 482 votes cast. He later won the seat against Ben Ohene-Ayeh of the NDC. He retained his seat in the 2016 Ghanaian parliamentary election. He is also a member of the Parliamentary Select Committees on Subsidiary Legislation and Roads & Transport<\/p>\n Johnny took the opportunity to ask Annor Dompreh if he has seen any sense in what the ‘fix the country’ wanted.<\/span><\/p>\n The TV3 journalist further asked why the government insisted they have the men but are still unable to use the same people to fix the country. Johnny Hughes further explained that it took some time for the government to acknowledge the need to fix the country. <\/span><\/p>\n Johnny quickly added that where is the country after a year of Nana Addo acknowledging that the economy is bad?
