Candidate Nana Addo; during his 2016 and 2020 election campaigns, made great assurances and promises to Ghanaians; building one factory in each of the 216 districts of Ghana, to provide employment opportunities for the youths.<\/p>\n

He also promised of building a dam in each of the villages of the dry northern regions of Ghana, “giving each of the 275 constituencies in the country $1m every year for the developmental projects of the constituencies\u2019 choice, reducing poverty in the country by putting money in people’s pockets” and many more.<\/p>\n

Less that two to the end of his total of 8 years in office; and with little to show Ghanaians, President Nana Addo is still making promises, giving assurances; and ‘building castle in the air’.<\/p>\n
To “Build Castle In The Air”; as we all learnt, is simply to say; creating dreams, hopes, plans that are impossible, unrealistic, or have very little chance of succeeding.<\/p>\n
When we describe someone as building ‘castle in the air’; all we mean is, the person is saying things he can never do. That is also to say ‘talk is cheap’.<\/p>\n

After all the 2016 and 2020 unfulfilled campaign promises; and all the subsequent assurances, that things will soon get better for Ghanaians; and that we should never giver up, President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akuffo Addo, has given another big assurance.<\/p>\n
In his latest speech, the President has said, that he is confident the Ghanaian economy will bounce back from its recent challenges; and that, measures put in place by the government, with the support of the IMF will ensure, that the economy is revived.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ‘Founders\u2019 Day’ ceremony, President Nana Addo assured that, \u201cThis is a solemn pledge I am making to you. I remain resolutely optimistic about Ghana\u2019s future, which I continue to believe is bright\u201d; and that, “this was a scenario Ghana had become accustomed to, in the last three immediate years before the pandemic struck”.<\/p>\n
The question is; was the Ghanaian economy doing well before the global Covid-19 pandemic struck?<\/p>\n
Again when the president said he is confident, the Ghanaian economy will bounce back from its recent challenges; we asked…when will that happen; will there be a miraculous change in the Ghanaian economy, in his remaining two years to exit power? <\/p>\n

If six years in power produces a work-done-zero result, what can the last two years offer?<\/p>\n
Couldn’t this latest assurances from the president, be described as building another castle in the air?<\/p>\n
