autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>This trend, Naa Agyeman said is contributing to the low interest in patronage of Ghanaian highlife music.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong><em>Araba<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0hitmaker is well known in the music industry as one of the few who held on to highlife genre in the early 2000s.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that in this 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0century, Ghanaians have totally imitated the Nigerian way of doing highlife.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not as if the Nigerian way of doing music is bad but if Ghanaians are adopting it, we should\u00a0have a feel of highlife in it,\u201d he suggested.<\/p>\n<p>Naa Agyeman says he is disappointed in the kind of highlife music produced in the 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0century.<\/p>\n<p>Although the veteran artiste admits that civilisation has played a key role in the kind of music being produced, he insists that having the original Ghanaian rhythm in every highlife songs will help preserve the unique identity.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p><div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"PJa1BGnu2bA\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ghanaians have taken Nigerian highlife - Naa Agyeman\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PJa1BGnu2bA?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe rhythm and singing of the kids does not help all Ghanaians, it only helps when you go outside the country,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He further explained the reason for his choice of lyrics in his music as a way of appealing to all age groups.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, he imagines a young lady in front of him when penning his lyrics and also uses happenings around him to craft messages.<\/p>\n<p>He alleged that he was asked to pay for Ghana Music Award, but after he refused to kowtow to the demands, his work was removed from the list of songs up for an award that year.<\/p>\n<p>Naa Agyeman said that the organisers gave an excuse of the song having profane lyrics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMusic has brought me money even though not all albums generate money, some are used as a stepping stone for some,\u201d the rapper stated.<\/p>\n<p>He says he never regrets doing music because it is God\u2019s gift to him and that music runs in the family.<\/p>\n<p>He revealed in the interview that he will soon release an album in which he collaborated with Kwabena Kwabena and Akwaboa.<\/p>\n<p>Naa Agyeman recently collaborated with Guru on the single titled\u00a0<strong><em>\u2018No Credit\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The song blends the styles of the two musicians creating a fun ear-catchy song.
