I think this is a novel way of improving road networks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Government is always constrained with funding.\u00a0 So it is impossible for government to catch up with the road needs so the best way is to bring in investors, toll the roads to be able to pay them back.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"595\" height=\"383\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Deputy-Minister-designate-for-Roads-and-Highways-Stephen-Pambin-Jalula.png\" alt=\"Tolls on new roads to fund government\u2019s road infrastructure agenda - Deputy Minister\" class=\"wp-image-10031844484\"   title=\"Tolls on new roads to fund government\u2019s road infrastructure agenda - Deputy Minister\"\/><figcaption>Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Stephen Pambin Jalula<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He added that the toll help to \u201cpay lenders and provide a return for equity investors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM on Tuesday, July 26.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>His explanation comes on the back of the Finance Minister\u2019s announcement that the Accra-Tema Motorway will be tolled after the rehabilitation and extension project is completed.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/ken-ofori-atta-parliament2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Tolls on new roads to fund government\u2019s road infrastructure agenda - Deputy Minister\" class=\"wp-image-10031955540\"   title=\"Tolls on new roads to fund government\u2019s road infrastructure agenda - Deputy Minister\"\/><figcaption>Ken Ofori-Atta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe Government of Ghana shall provide funding through GIIF to take equity in the Special Purpose Vehicle to be created by GIIF for the project,\u201d Mr. Ofori-Atta mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>Since the announcement, many Ghanaians have expressed varied opinions on it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Whereas some agree with the reintroduction, others are opposed saying the government did not listen to the counsel that was proffered to it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of these persons is the Ranking Member of Parliament\u2019s Roads and Transport Committee, Mr. Governs Kwame Agbodza.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"603\" height=\"424\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Governs.jpg\" alt=\"Tolls on new roads to fund government\u2019s road infrastructure agenda -
