{"id":1165166,"date":"2022-08-03T17:00:47","date_gmt":"2022-08-03T17:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/03\/nca-justifies-ghc5-charge-for-self-re-registration-app\/"},"modified":"2022-08-03T17:00:47","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T17:00:47","slug":"nca-justifies-ghc5-charge-for-self-re-registration-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/08\/03\/nca-justifies-ghc5-charge-for-self-re-registration-app\/","title":{"rendered":"NCA justifies GHc5 charge for self-re-registration App"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"521\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/E7BD3119-7C9B-42E3-BE02-B45CBD0707C5-696x521.jpeg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Ursula Owusu-Ekuful\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Communications Minister<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The National Communications Authority (NCA) has provided reasons to charge people who will want to use the Sim Card re-registration App to register their SIM cards<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Minister of Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, last Sunday, addressing the press on the extension of the SIM card re-registration date and how the ministry is making things easy for Sim card users to be able to do self-Registration at the comfort of their homes, said the ministry intends to introduce self-re-registration App and those who use the App will be charged a fee of GHc5.<\/p>\n<p>This has received a lot of public criticisms with some Ghanaians questioning why the GHC5 fee since the minister failed to seek approval from Parliament<\/p>\n<p>The Communications Minister has been explaining that the levy is not compulsory and she does not need approval from Parliament<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>One of the major stakeholders in the SIM card re-registration is the NCA.
