INSET: The Kotoko new jersey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>King Faisal president, Alhaji Grusah, has slammed Asante Kotoko over the use of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II\u2019s photograph on their new jerseys.<\/p>\n<p>The new kit, released on Tuesday and designed by Italian equipment supplier, Errea, is their traditional red, while the away kit is green.<\/p>\n<p>The new kit for the forthcoming season has an image of the Asantehene on the right bottom side of both jerseys.<\/p>\n<p>The club has themed this season thus: \u201cCelebrating the pillar of peace: His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,\u201d a reference to the Asantehene, the club\u2019s patron.<\/p>\n<p>Notwithstanding the theme, Grusah has descended on management of Kotoko for the use of Otumfuo\u2019s picture on the jerseys, describing it as highly uncivilised.<\/p>\n<p>He told Kessben FM, \u201cIt\u2019s uncivilised to have put \u2018Otumfuo\u2019 on the Kotoko jersey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, it\u2019s a village thing. Otumfuo is more than that, he does not go to war and lose.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMay be these Asantes don\u2019t know how Otumfuo is valued. Who doesn\u2019t know he is the owner of the club? Which team does that in the world?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cWe put sponsors on jerseys.
