{"id":1161291,"date":"2022-07-28T21:16:57","date_gmt":"2022-07-28T21:16:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/28\/president-revokes-sarah-adwoa-safos-appointment\/"},"modified":"2022-07-28T21:16:57","modified_gmt":"2022-07-28T21:16:57","slug":"president-revokes-sarah-adwoa-safos-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/28\/president-revokes-sarah-adwoa-safos-appointment\/","title":{"rendered":"President revokes Sarah Adwoa Safo&#8217;s appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 17px;\">\n                                                   Accra, July 28, GNA &#8211; President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revoked the appointment of Sarah Adwoa Safo, as Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/1.21536915.jpg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"kMediaObject\"\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">A statement issued by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin said the President&#8217;s order that is in accordance with Article 81 (a)  of the Constitution, takes immediate effect.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">It said the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecelia Abena Dapaah would continue to act as caretaker  minister for the ministry &#8220;until such a time that President Akufo-Addo appoints a substantive minister.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Ms Safo, who is the Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, sought from the President in 2021 leave of absence from office in 2021  for personal reasons.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The President granted the request, which should have ended on August 31, 2021<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">However on October 6, 2021,  the President extended the arrangement and asked the Madam Dapaah to act in her stead until further notice.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Accra, July 28, GNA &#8211; President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revoked the appointment of Sarah Adwoa Safo, as Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
