Gyakie<\/strong><\/p>\n FAST-RISING female Ghanaian afrobeat artiste Jackline Acheampong, popularly known as\u00a0Gyakie, has held a listening session for her highly anticipated EP album titled \u2018My Diary\u2019 in Accra.<\/p>\n The much hyped event attracted a section of the media, including radio presenters, bloggers and DJs, who had the opportunity to listen to some of the songs on the EP album for the first time.<\/p>\n The EP has been equipped with six songs, \u2018Audience\u2019 featuring Song Bird, \u2018Far Away\u2019, \u2018For My Baby\u2019, \u2018Flames\u2019 featuring Davido, \u2018Something\u2019 and \u2018Waka Waka\u2019.<\/p>\n At the event, the afrobeat singer surprised her fans and guests at the event when she performed some of the songs from her\u00a0\u2018My Diary\u2019\u00a0EP, which was officially released last Friday.<\/p>\n On \u2018My Diary\u2019 EP<\/em>,<\/em> Gyakie displays her versatility on tracks such as\u00a0\u2018Flames\u2019 <\/em>and\u00a0\u2018Waka Waka\u2019, <\/em>where she showcases different sides of her talent.<\/p>\n The release of Gyakie\u2019s second studio EP should not come as a surprise to anyone. Since her arrival on the local music scene in 2019, she has remained on a very impressive and inspiring course.<\/p>\n From dropping successive music singles, topping music charts to winning multiple awards, performing at sold out shows, Gyakie has neither looked back nor slowed down.<\/p>\n Gyakie, who is noted for her hit songs like \u2018Forever\u2019, \u2018Joy and Happiness (Intro)\u2019, \u2018Whine\u2019, \u2018Vacation \u2019, \u2018The Journey\u2019, among others, is regarded as the next act to come out of Ghana with her talent making way for her onto the global music market.<\/p>\n BEATWAVES <\/em><\/strong>gathered that the success of her hit song, \u2018Forever\u2019, from her \u2018Seed\u2019 EP, released in 2020 became one of the first Ghanaian songs (in a long while) to break into Nigerian music charts without a Naija feature.<\/p>\n The song was her claim to fame, enjoying airplay and leading charts in\u00a0Ghana,\u00a0Kenya\u00a0and\u00a0Nigeria.<\/p>\n It topped music charts such\u00a0as Billboard\u2019s\u00a0Top Triller Global and Shazam\u2019s Top 200 Charts.<\/p>\n Gyakie released a\u00a0remix\u00a0of \u2018Forever\u2019 with Nigerian singer, Omah Lay, in March 2021.<\/p>\n She is a recipient of several accolades including Best Female MVCP Viewer\u2019s Choice Awards 2021 and the African Artiste of the Year at the Sound City MVCP Awards 2020 among others.<\/p>\n She has worked with almost all the top Ghanaian talents in the music scene, and backed more than 100 hit songs.<\/p>\n Gyakie is the daughter of one of the celebrated highlife musicians, Ernest Nana Acheampong.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n By George Clifford Owusu<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u00a0 Gyakie FAST-RISING female Ghanaian afrobeat artiste Jackline Acheampong, popularly known as\u00a0Gyakie, has held a listening session for her highly anticipated EP album titled \u2018My Diary\u2019 in Accra.
