\n Sunyani, July 25, GNA \u2013 Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister has entreated the members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to bury all differences and rally behind the newly-elected national executives of the Party.<\/p>\n
She congratulated Mr Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman and all the newly elected executives at the regional and national levels, saying the success of the just-ended conference of the Party had consolidated the gains of the NPP\u2019s internal democracy.<\/div>\n
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mad. Owusu-Banahene praised the NPP for the high sense of civility exhibited by the Party during the conference, which had shown the political maturity and deepened the democratic ideals of the Party.<\/div>\n
\u201cAs an indigene of the region, we are solidly behind your administration to enable you and your executives to achieve your vision for the NPP in breaking the eight-year governance cycle of the country since January 1993\u201d, Mad. Owusu-Banahene indicated.<\/div>\n
She therefore underscored the need for all disgruntled members and supporters of the Party to see the elections of the new executives as the choice of majority of the good people of the \u201celephant family soldiering hard to win the Election 2024\u201d.<\/div>\n
The Regional Minister stated issues of pettiness, squabbles, wrangling and backbiting could not be ruled out in any competitive political party elections, saying \u201cnow the elections are over, we must therefore endeavour to bury all issues relating to factionalisms.\u201d<\/div>\n
Mad. Owusu-Banahene said the NPP had since 1992 remained \u201ca strong Party under great elephant difficult to break its front\u201d, and appealed to the new executives, particularly those at the regional levels to avoid tendencies that could \u201ctear the party apart\u201d and thus narrow its political fortunes in 2024.<\/div>\n
She reiterated the importance for the leadership of the party to intensify public sensitization so that some members, supporters, sympathizers, and the electorate in general would understand the ideologies and philosophies upon which the NPP was founded.<\/div>\n
Mad. Owusu-Banahane said the Election 2024 was \u201cnearer than ever before\u201d, and urged the Party to forge ahead in unity, propagate and sell the numerous achievements made under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo\u201d.<\/div>\n
She emphasised the NPP in the region was working extremely hard to re-capture all its traditional parliamentary seats it lost to the NDC in the 2020 general election, saying \u201caside that we are also poised to win the orphans seats and widen our presidential votes too\u201d.<\/div>\n
The Regional Minister said the Bono Region had benefited a lot from the President Akufo-Addo\u2019s administration, indicating that she had followed up on some development needs of the region, which would be tackled very soon.<\/div>\n
\u201cNow the first phase of the Sunyani Airport is ready for inauguration. Work on the Sunyani inner-city road project is also progressing steadily, and I am seriously lobbying for work to begin on the abandoned Sunyani library project,\u201d Mad.
