Arsenal have completed the signing of versatile Ukraine player Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old flew back from City\u2019s pre-season tour of the USA to complete the move after\u00a0Arsenal agreed a \u00a330m deal,\u00a0which includes \u00a32m in add-ons.<\/p>\n

He has signed a long-term contract with the London club and is their fifth signing of the summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a boyhood dream come true, because I was a massive fan when I was a kid,\u201d said Zinchenko.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince Thierry Henry and young Cesc Fabregas was playing here, I was just enjoying watching those games, that Arsenal. And obviously I started to love this club, so I am so excited and I cannot wait to play for this amazing club.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018A hope and smell for titles\u2019<\/h3>\n

Predominantly a midfielder for his country, Zinchenko largely featured at left-back for the Blues, but only played 15 times last season as Pep Guardiola\u2019s side retained the Premier League title.<\/p>\n

He says he has spoken to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta about his role in the team but would keep the details \u201cprivate\u201d, adding: \u201cIf the manager tells me one day I need to be goalkeeper, I will be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zinchenko worked with Arteta when the Gunners\u2019 boss was on the coaching team at Manchester City and says the experience played \u201cthe most important role\u201d in his decision to move.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the first day at City I knew that he\u2019s going to be a very good manager,\u201d Zinchenko added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am here to achieve big things and I hope we can win some titles, and I hope we are going to fight for every title in which we are going to be involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven from the last season, I was watching Arsenal\u2019s games and I could smell it\u2019s coming, you know? The team is growing up so quickly and I think it\u2019s time. It\u2019s time to do our best and to achieve something big.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zinchenko is the second player to move from City to the Emirates this summer.<\/p>\n

Brazil striker\u00a0Gabriel Jesus joined the Gunners for \u00a345m\u00a0earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Technical director Edu said Zinchenko had been a \u201cmain focus\u201d in their recruitment and backed the new recruit to help the squad reach a \u201cdifferent level\u201d.<\/p>\n

Manager Arteta added: \u201cAlex is a high quality player who will give us options and versatility.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a player that I personally know really well and continued to follow him after my time at Manchester City.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not only about the positions he can play but as well, the versatility he will give us in attack and defence.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlex is a person with great human qualities and character, and I\u2019m delighted that everyone has made this huge effort to bring Alex to the club.\u201d<\/p>\n
