The results of the elections at the National Delegates\u2019 Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have left some party supporters and political neutrals excited as eight of the 10 available positions saw fresh inductions.<\/p>\n

Only the National Women\u2019s Organiser won by Kate Gyamfua, and Nasara Coordinator, won by Aziz Maryba Futa, were re-elected.<\/p>\n

Stephen Ayensu Ntim defeated Stephen Asamoah Boateng to become the party\u2019s National Chairman after four attempts of finishing in second place.<\/p>\n

Stephen Ntim won 4,014 votes, whereas Asamoah Boateng managed to win 1,010 votes, making his victory clear and concise.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He has been involved with NPP since 2002 and has been vying for the National Chairman position since 2005.<\/p>\n

Speaking on\u00a0Luv in the Morning<\/strong>\u00a0on Luv FM, Researcher Eugene Osei-Tutu, stated that Mr Ntim deserves his victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Ntim could\u2019ve won this seat years ago but was unable due to internal party politics,\u201d Osei Tutu said. \u201cHis election is bound to bring a change to the party\u2019s , especially since he has over 20 years of experience\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mr Ntim\u2019s election as the party\u2019s National Chairman has left many supporters of the NPP excited and hopeful for the future.<\/p>\n

NPP\u2019s executives have also seen an abundance of fresh leadership.<\/p>\n

First-time electees, Danquah Smith Buttey, Rita Talata Asobayire, and Alhaji Masawudu Osman, will be serving as first, second, and third-vice chairpersons respectively.<\/p>\n

Popular public figure in the Ashanti region, Justin Frimpong Kodua, commonly and affectionately known as \u2018JFK\u2019,\u00a0emerged as NPP General Secretary.<\/p>\n

\u2018JFK\u2019 won by a comfortable margin of 313 votes.<\/p>\n

Eugene Osei-Tutu emphasized the importance of JFK\u2019s victory for the party in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe General Secretary is essentially the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the party,\u201d he said. \u201cI am solemnly hoping that \u2018JFK\u2019 will follow through on his promises.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luv in the Morning host<\/strong>, David Akuetteh agrees with Osei Tutu.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve encountered \u2018JFK\u2019 on a few occasions and understand his vision for the party and the Ashanti region,\u201d David said. \u201cIf he can follow up on the various development projects he is planning, then I believe the region is in great hands for the foreseeable future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another Ashanti Region representative, Henry Nana Boakye, also known as \u2018Nana B,\u2019 won his bid for NPP National Organiser.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nana B attained 2,870 votes in comparison to his closest competitor\u2019s 2,274 votes.<\/p>\n

The individual and collective victories of JFK and Nana have filled the hearts of NPP supporters in the Ashanti Region with much-needed faith and political excitement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eugene Osei-Tutu strongly believes this is the best political position the Ashanti Region has been in over the last few years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have two young and thoughtful leaders in considerable political positions as a result of this election,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s about time the Ashanti Region received the attention and care it truly needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Salam Mustapha and Charles Dwamena are the new National Youth Organizer and National Treasurer respectively.<\/p>\n

Eugene noted that these elections bring with them a promise for a brighter future for the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.<\/p>\n

He added the election showed the uprising of youth involvement in politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor too long we have been retaining leaders who don\u2019t understand the people they lead,\u201d he said. \u201cThe average age of Ghana is 21.5 years whereas the average age of influential political leaders surpasses 70.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eugene observed the youth have the biggest influence in large-scale elections as long as they are compelled to vote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited about this new leadership as they have influence over the youth\u2026they are able to get them out of the house and in the voting booths,\u201d he said. \u201cI think the future is going to be better for Ghana, it must be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The New Patriotic Party (NPP)\u00a0held its National Annual Delegates\u2019 Conference at the Accra Sports Stadium from July 16-17.<\/p>\n

The talking point of the conference was the NPP\u2019s election of executives.<\/p>\n

With over 6,000 delegates in attendance from all over the country and 40 candidates bidding for 10 administrative positions, the conference titled \u2018Holding Together, Working Together\u2019 followed the theme of unity.\u00a0<\/p>\n
