Memphis Depay<\/strong><\/p>\n Tottenham\u00a0are reportedly willing to pay \u00a317million for Memphis Depay after the forward was deemed surplus to requirements at\u00a0Barcelona.<\/p>\n The Catalan giants have told Depay to find himself a new club this summer after the club bolstered their attack with the signings of\u00a0Bayern Munich\u2019s Robert Lewandowski and\u00a0Leeds\u2019 Raphinha.<\/p>\n With the Polish forward likely to claim Depay\u2019s No 9 shirt at the Nou Camp, the Dutch international has been placed on the transfer market \u2013 and Spurs have already been in contact.<\/p>\n According to\u00a0Sport, Antonio Conte\u2019s side made contact to discuss a \u00a317million offer for the 28-year-old \u2013 which was just short of Barcelona\u2019s \u00a320million valuation for the striker.<\/p>\n The first approach came for Depay during Spurs\u2019 negotiations for French defender Clement Lenglet \u2013 who they have signed on a season-long loan from the Spanish giants.<\/p>\n At the time, Depay was part of Barcelona manager Xavi\u2019s first-team plans, however, the club have since been active in the summer window and thus changed the situation.<\/p>\n The confirmed signings of Lewandowski and Raphinha, as well as the renewal of Ousmane Dembele\u2019s contract, means that Depay would face serious competition for a place up front next year.<\/p>\n It remains unknown whether Depay would agree on a move to north London \u2013 with the Dutch international quite happy in Spain and still having a year left on his current deal.<\/p>\n The Premier League side are looking to make Depay their sixth recruit of the summer already \u2013 after the arrivals of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and the aforementioned Lenglet.<\/p>\n The club are also set to complete the signing of Djed Spence from Middlesbrough for \u00a312.5m after he underwent a medical on Friday and did interviews for the club website.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n \n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u00a0 Memphis Depay Tottenham\u00a0are reportedly willing to pay \u00a317million for Memphis Depay after the forward was deemed surplus to requirements at\u00a0Barcelona.
