{"id":1151743,"date":"2022-07-18T09:58:40","date_gmt":"2022-07-18T09:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/18\/2022-wc-legendary-mohammed-polo-to-be-honored\/"},"modified":"2022-07-18T09:58:40","modified_gmt":"2022-07-18T09:58:40","slug":"2022-wc-legendary-mohammed-polo-to-be-honored","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/18\/2022-wc-legendary-mohammed-polo-to-be-honored\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 WC: Legendary Mohammed Polo to be honored"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"533\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Screenshot-2022-07-18-095732-696x533.png\"   alt=\"GFA boss with Mohammed Polo\" title=\"GFA boss with Mohammed Polo\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">GFA boss with Mohammed Polo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>President of the Ghana Football Association [GFA],\u00a0Kurt Okraku, has said Mohammed Polo will be part of the\u00a0Black Stars\u00a0entourage for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>Polo, who is a Ghanaian football legend was part of the team that won the 1978 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] with the Black Stars.<\/p>\n<p>The former Hearts of Oak gaffer and legend has also contributed massively to the growth of football in the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr Okraku, it will be the association\u2019s way of showing appreciation to the legendary footballer for his immense contribution to the development of Ghana football.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMohammed Polo\u00a0has come and done his bit, it is left with me and you to also do our part in our mission to make our dear nation great and strong,\u201d Kurt Okraku\u00a0made this promise to the legend during the Launch of his autobiography titled \u201cPolo The Magnificent: The story of the Dribbling Magician.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur beloved\u00a0Black Stars\u00a0are in the Mundial (2022 World Cup) and we will go there and make our nation great and strong and proudly defend our colours and we will go there with the one and only professor Mohammed Ahmed \u2018Polo\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMohammed polo will be with us on the flight to Qatar which will be our token of appreciation.
