{"id":1150431,"date":"2022-07-16T07:06:09","date_gmt":"2022-07-16T07:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/16\/over-6000-npp-delegates-to-elect-national-executives-today\/"},"modified":"2022-07-16T07:06:09","modified_gmt":"2022-07-16T07:06:09","slug":"over-6000-npp-delegates-to-elect-national-executives-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/16\/over-6000-npp-delegates-to-elect-national-executives-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 6,000 NPP delegates to elect national executives today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Over 6,000 delegates of the governing New Patriotic Party, drawn from all the regions of the country, will later today, July 16, 2022, mass up at the Accra Sports stadium to elect new national executives for the party.<\/p>\n<p>The Elections Committee of the NPP initially cleared 48 aspirants to contest various positions \u2013 National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Organiser, Youth Organiser, Treasurer, Women\u2019s Organiser, and Nasara Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the cleared candidates subsequently stepped down from the race.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Peter Mac Manu, Chairman of NPP\u2019s National Elections Committee, told journalists on Friday that as far as the Committee was concerned, issues relating to the album to use and proxy voting had been resolved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had a series of meetings [with the candidates] to help them to express their concerns or any misgivings that they have so that we can address them,\u201d Mr Manu said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"jnWWMXmTAzY\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"All set for polls in Accra over the weekend - Buaben Asamoa\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jnWWMXmTAzY?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Although the elections will start later today, it is expected to go late into the night or even the next day, Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Communications Director for the governing party, Mr. Yaw Buaben Asamoa, said \u201cWe have put in place all the necessary arrangements ahead of the delegates conference. I am certain that the conference will be smooth.
