Ex-Ghana international Laryea Kingston says he\u2019s still searching for answers over why he was left out of Ghana\u2019s squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Laryea was a key member of the Black Stars from 2002 to 2010, but was controversially dropped for that tournament in South Africa by coach Milovan Rajevac.<\/p>\n

Despite playing in the World Cup qualifiers and even making the provisional squad for the World Cup, he was sent home after failing to make the cut for the final 23-man squad.<\/p>\n

This ended the 41-year-old\u2019s dream of playing at the World Cup, having also missed the 2006 edition due to suspension.<\/p>\n

Recalling the events from a decade ago, Laryea said missing out on a place in the 2010 World Cup squad broke him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 2010 World Cup was the one that finished me. Immediately after the 2006 World Cup, I joined the team again and I played all the games in the qualifiers the friendly games and I was out again,\u201d he told MX24 TV.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was not on suspension and I don\u2019t know what happened. A day before they moved to South Africa, I was asked to go home. I am still searching for answers and criteria they used to take me out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Laryea added: \u201cI look at the squad and I don\u2019t see myself going out of the 23-man squad. I was playing regularly on my team, I don\u2019t like talking about this but it\u2019s the decision of whoever made that decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s something that keeps ringing in my head because if you ask me if I enjoyed my career I would say yes apart from that me not enjoying the World Cup and that is it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the former Hearts of Oak and Lokomotiv Moscow winger recently acquired a UEFA B coaching licence.<\/p>\n

Currently a youth team coach at the Right to Dream Academy, Laryea said he hopes to win something with Ghana as a manager.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know as a coach I would win something for Ghana,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
