According the report, NDC’s John Dramani Mahama and his Finance Minister, Seth Terkpe had borrowed a total of $3.7billion in four years whilst Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta borrowed about $11.025billion also in four years.

Here are some massive reactions from Ghanaians about the report. Whilst some looked at the figures at face value and judged the current government for woefully failing Ghanaians, others did their analysis and concluded that comparatively the current government has cause to issue such an amount of bond in four years.

“Let Mahama be, you People knew so well that Akuffo-Addo had nothing to offer yet you tarnished JM’s image just to make sure that Akuffo-Addo comes to power. You deliberately paid blind eyes to his efforts and rather highlighted his flaws. What exactly do you want us to do with this? As if we don’t know too well that you’re part of the problem,” a reaction to the report.

“Akufo Addo and Bawumia who were on rooftops prior to 2016 elections shouting that they won’t borrow because the money is here, have borrowed more than any other government in our history. Loud mouth failures,” someone commented.

“We are grateful for this comparison,, please let see projects both NPP and NDC did with this amount. From Education, Health , Rail way etc etc … And add that this Government saved depositors savings with $3 billion plus $2 billion on IPP’s and the useless Banking crisis respectively left by mahama. More importantly, the empty NDC Government borrowed around the interest rate of 20-24% while this Government did it around cascading 8.4%,” someone’s input.

“But Ghanaians are not in Dumsor. But no one has cancelled trainees allowance. But there are no shortage of fuel in Ghana. But there has not been an implementation of three months pay policy. Ghanaians don’t have short memory,” this was someone’s interpretation to the figures.

“If I remember how Akufo Addo and bawumia and the entire NPP party chastised JM concerning borrowing,it marvels me to see what is happening today on same borrowing under the NPP government oo. Time will indeed reveal the deepest hidden secrets,” some also said.

Content created and supplied by: Discoverers_Gh (via Opera
News )

    , . , .
