While we hope for a quick end to the war, we must understand that things could get worse before they get better.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and how the Russian-Ukraine war are also having a negative impact on Ghana. He advised Ghana to be self reliant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reactions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The comments of Dr. Bawumia has caused many criticisms.<\/p>\n<p>A user wrote; &#8220;Only God knows how these excuses by Dr. Bawumia will add sugar and bread to the kooko sakora being given to the children in schools across the country.&#8221;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/242cbcc9caf04b35bbaeab857ecd412b\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Others were of the view that it is not the effect of Russian -Ukraine war but rather excessive borrowing by Dr. Bawumia and his government.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/ecfa93efeb9f48b3bb0d85e8fb17c3fb\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dr. Bawumia will be a fine President. He is visionary.
