An aspirant for the General Secretary position in the incoming elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua also known as Okumkom, has promised to make the welfare of members a number one priority.<\/p>\n
A campaign team member of the YEA boss, Mr. Akwasi Afriyie, who spoke with Opemsuo Radio in relation to the upcoming National Elections said the grassroots has been neglected which he believes must be a source of worry for the party going forward. This he says Lawyer Justin Kodua intends to rectify.<\/p>\n
Mr. Justin Frimpong Kodua is among the six candidates contesting the General Secretary of the party John Boadu, the incumbent. Political analysts have described the contest as a \u2018two-horse race\u2019 between John Boadu and Justin Kodua.<\/p>\n
Lawyer Kodua\u2019s camp last week raced issues with the album which they said was fraught with unacceptable errors after it was released to the candidates. Their issues were subsequently addressed by the Elections Committee Chairman and the 2020 Campaign Manager, Mr. Peter McManu who promised to deal with the reported errors.<\/p>\n
According to him, Justin Kodua has in the last few years created jobs for the Youth Organizers of the party and at the same time employed over 150,000 Ghanaian youth across the country through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). For this reason, he is the best bet for the General Secretary role of the elephant party.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe welfare of the party members is very bad, especially at the grassroots. It is worrying that almost six years after helping the party win power, even with all your qualifications and expertise, people are being recruited into security agencies; Police, Military, Fire Service Immigration Service, Prisons, and others but we still have party members who are jobless in spite of their qualifications. JFK has done it before and he is the best man to handle the General Secretary role\u201d, he insisted.<\/p>\n
Mr. Akwasi Afriyie who is the Corporate Affairs Director at the YEA expressed optimism that Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua will emerge winner at the end of the competition. He indicated that the campaign message of JFK is well received by the delegates and party members.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur campaign is going really well, our message is well received by the delegates and party folks. The officers the Secretaries, Organizers from the polling station, constituency, and regional level throughout the country have bought into our messages\u201d, he affirmed.<\/p>\n
