{"id":1147387,"date":"2022-07-12T10:34:16","date_gmt":"2022-07-12T10:34:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/12\/4-dead-5-injured-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident\/"},"modified":"2022-07-12T10:34:16","modified_gmt":"2022-07-12T10:34:16","slug":"4-dead-5-injured-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/12\/4-dead-5-injured-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"4 Dead, 5 Injured In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/scene-1-Members-of-the-FRSC-at-the-scene-of-the-accident-e1547204695855-600x399.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Four persons have died while five others sustained injuries in an accident involving a Toyota Sienna space bus and a truck at the old toll gate, Ogere on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Mr Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Umar explained that the accident occurred at about 3:22 pm and was caused by speeding and loss of control by the driver of the Toyota Sienna.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The sector commander stated that the Sienna marked KJA 738 ET, lost control and collided with the truck which was making a reverse on the expressway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cA total of nine people were involved comprised of six men, two women and one child. Five people were injured and four persons died,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Umar added that the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for treatment while the deceased were deposited at FOS Morgue, Ipara.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">He advised motorists to use common sense speed limit, especially during the rainy season when visibility was always poor.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four persons have died while five others sustained injuries in an accident involving a Toyota Sienna space bus and a truck at the old toll gate, Ogere on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
